Informed of "Mr. Henderson": Accuse (or Lie in the original version). Evidence: Housekeeper's Statement. The case itself, both in name and plot, is based off the 1948 film " The Naked City". This movie was directed by Jules Dassin - this is referenced in the game (in this same case) in the name of the dress shop where both the primary victim and her friend worked; "D'Assine." Key differences between the two cases (that of the movie and that of the game) include location (the game takes place in Los Angeles while the film takes place in New York City), narrative (the story in the game is told in a straightforward manner through Phelps' perspective while the film is as much an examination of life in New York City as it is about the murder investigation), and the time frame (the story told in the game takes place over the course of one day and night while the film's story unfolds throughout several days and nights). After the shootout at Industrial Street you'll interrogate Bigelow. Behind him on this desk you see the Marquee-printed pink slips. Grab the Morphine Syrette from the trash can next to the decorative potted plant along the left wall of the interior hallway leading to the stairs (this is 1/3 needed for the Achievement/Trophy, A Good Looking Corpse.) Examine the pills on the floor (this is the second of the three requirements for gaining the Achievement/Trophy A Good-Looking Corpse.)

Harold Stoneman is referenced in the main game in the case " The Fallen Idol". When examining the bottle of Chloral Hydrate pills at Marlon Hopgood's casting set, the name of the physician who prescribed the pills is referred to as a "Dr. Stoneman". Street Crimes: Boxing Clever [Traffic], Canned Fish [Homicide], Daylight Robbery [AD Vice], Bad Date [AD Vice] & Accident Prone [Arson]. Walk down the street and take your first left then keep going until you hear the harmonica. Once Willy makes a run for it chase him up to the roof and then shoot him down as he climbs the illuminated sign. Now head inside the bathroom and Mal will inform you of his finding. Now examine the body, first up is the head. Then examine her left arm and her right arm. L.A. Noire - DLC Cases Walkthrough - L.A. Noire-DLC-Cases 72 When you arrive at the crime scene, Office Glen Wheeler is smoking in front of the apartment building's main entrance and will inform you that the crime scene is on the second floor in apartment six.Wald, Marvin; Maltz, Albert; and Bruccoli, Matthew Joseph. The Naked City: A Screenplay. Carbondale, Ill.: Southern Illinois University Press, 1948. Drive Heather Swanson to Arnett's apartment; make it there without any vehicle damage to earn the trophy "Chauffer Service".

In the game, Phelps and Earle, who are ad vice detectives, are called in to help work the case because the victim was drugged with Army surplus morphine. In the film, the case is worked exclusively by the homicide detectives and the victim was drugged with chloroform. The visual style of The Naked City was inspired by New York photographer Weegee, who published a book of photographs of New York life titled Naked City (1945). [5] Weegee was hired as a visual consultant on the film, and is credited with helping to craft its imagery. [6] But film historian William Park has argued that, despite Weegee's work on the film and its title coming from Weegee's earlier work, the film owes its visual style more to Italian neorealism rather than Weegee's photographic work. [7] Walking into the store, we'll be greeted by the owner of the store. Eventually, we'll have a couple of questions for her. Experienced detective Lt. Dan Muldoon and novice Det. Jimmy Halloran are assigned to the case. At the scene the medical examiner determines the “accidental” death had actually been murder. A pair of men’s pajamas yields only the name “Philip Henderson” from her housekeeper, who drops a bombshell that Dexter’s hoard of expensive jewelry is missing. A bottle of sleeping pills leads Halloran to the doctor who prescribed them, Lawrence Stoneman. Ruth Morrison, a model friend of Jean’s, is also located and questioned.Relationship with victim: Accuse (or Lie in the original version). Evidence: Benzedrine Prescription Street Crimes: Masked Gunman [Traffic], Running Battle [Homicide], Misunderstanding [Homicide] & Daylight Robbery [AD Vice].

As soon as you're told to enter, a man exits the doc's office and complains sarcastically about his sciatica being less important than Cole and Roy's business.

The gameplay of L.A. Noire is similar to that of other crime-based adventure and third-person action games. However, the roles are reversed. You play as Cole Phelps, a US Marine returning from World War II, solving crimes as a policeman in Los Angeles. By finishing cases, Phelps rises through the ranks of the LAPD, from a regular patrol officer all the way to a widely respected Vice detective. The movie features the uncredited film debuts of Kathleen Freeman, Bruce Gordon, James Gregory, Nehemiah Persoff, and John Randolph in small roles. Randolph, along with Paul Ford, who also had a small part, was appearing at the time on the New York stage in Command Decision. John Marley, Arthur O'Connell, David Opatoshu, and Molly Picon had small, uncredited roles.

The only location of this weapon in the game. The storeroom is at the end of a long corridor guarded by goons. You'll come to this after descending a set of stairs. Julia was very emotionally unstable, and she took sleeping pills to ease her depression while taking Benzedrine to keep up with modelling and controlling her appetite. Julia also had an insatiable need for money and was obsessed with luxury living, jewelry and fine clothes. As she was desired by many men, such as Henry Arnett and Harold Stoneman, she used them to her advantage and they willingly committed acts of crime to appease her.LA Noire's The Naked City is one of many cases on the Vice desk - and a DLC case in the original release - and follows on from The Setup.
