Oakenbrow Glade: The First Glade, their soulpods planted by the goddess herself, they have built a reputation for generosity and nobility but also, so some claim, arrogance. [4b] Two squads of 10 are often used to help fill battleline, with the third being another Dryad squad or some Tree-Revenants. If you can get squads of 20 or 30 going, it’s worth considering as their saves improve to a 4+ with 20 or more models. Just be prepared to work around their a morale, as a less than stellar 6 they can flake fast if caught out in the open. Tree Revenants On the plus side, it’s also now always D3 wounds even if you roll equal to your Bravery making it slightly better when pelted by the stray arrow or magic spell. Charge Phase Command Abilities Reinforced x 1 Core Battalions *Warlord **Battle Regiment Additional Enhancements Artefact Total: 2000 / 2000 The newly reborn Alarielle sent a pulse of pure life magic and called forth a great muster of the Sylvaneth with her Spirit-Song, summoning the wargroves of every glade, even the disbanded Sons of Durthu and the disdained Outcasts. She took up the spear of Kurnoth and called a Royal Moot with the Regents of the Glades. The God-King sent his Celestant-Prime and Alarielle made the decision to ally with him. [9d]

Heartwood Glade: Worshipers of the god Kurnoth, who they consider Alarielle's consort, and unsurprisingly the first to welcome Kurnoth Hunters. [4b] Once per battle, at the start of your hero phase, you can set up an AWAKENED WYLDWOOD wholly within 12″ of the bearer, obeying all other rules. You have a few Warrior-Wizards in your roster so if you feel like going Wizard hunting this is worth considering, but you’re probably better keeping your Wizard focusing on casting, or take a different weapon relic. C-Sylvaneth are known for their ability to navigate the arcane realmroots that lace the Mortal Realms. In the game, this gives your army fantastic flexibility in the movement phase, allowing them to teleport across the board and ambush weaker foes or grab objectives at the last minute.

Winterleaf Glade: The Age of Chaos has devastated their once-beautiful lands and their outlook is full of fatalism and introspection. [4b] Only one twisted in mind and soul would seek the company of such horrors, yet Drycha Hamadreth has named herself their Regent. It is said that Drycha is a truly ancient spirit who fought in the wars at the end of the world-that-was. Many say she failed Alarielle at that time. Certainly, it was not until the darkest days of the Age of Chaos that the Everqueen relented and planted Drycha’s soulseed, releasing the Branchwraith from her millennial limbo. In truth, Alarielle feared the damage that Drycha’s firebrand madness might do and the horrors she might wreak. The Everqueen worried also that Drycha’s was a necessary darkness, and that by keeping her imprisoned, the mother had somehow weakened her children. [1] [3a] The Sylvaneth, who were attuned to the natural world, felt the cold winds of death before the Necroquake even happened. Alarielle convinced Drycha Hamadreth and the Dreadwood Glade to go to Shyish fight against Nagash in the Soul Wars as her forces were on purifying Ghyran from the forces of Nurgle. [9e] BiologyIt’s rare for a Sylvaneth army to go without a Wizard, whether that’s a Branchwych or Alarielle herself, and with the Lore of the Deepwood, you’ll have a powerful new range of options for them to unleash in battle. Verdurous Harmony, for instance, lets you restore lost models to nearby units.

Seed of Rebirth – The first time the bearer is slain. roll a dice. On a 1, the bearer dies. On a 2+ the bearer is not slain, you can heal up to D3 wounds on them., After the ages of war Sylvaneth have become untrusting of those outside their kind and aggressively protect their forest homes. [9a] WarfareSmall change to the Large Settlement Territory making it a bit more expensive to add a Hero to your roster, decreasing your Glory by 2 now instead of 1 and then if you have the City Wall upgrade decreasing by 3 instead of by 2. I haven’t played quite enough Path to Glory just yet but so far from the Fyreslayers, Kharadron, and Maggotkin rosters I’ve looked at you have access to enough Heroes anyways so this shouldn’t be a huge deal to your campaign and it makes enough sense that Heroes cost just a little more! This can be iffy since you need to know if your opponent is casting a lot of spells or not. In a tournament setting you probably want something more consistent. D If you have the opportunity to take this it can be valuable, as Sylvaneth has a really solid lore. Combines well with Spiritsong Stave to get an extra cast in as well. In my box I had a really nice casting of pieces and sprues. No pieces were damaged or bent out of place, and everything was in the box and accounted for. However, there are quite a few spindly pieces that make up this set, and I’ve come to expect it from the Sylvaneth units. It’s not a negative, and ust means that you need to take care when removing the pieces from the sprue and assembling them.

As of this writing, Winterleaf is far and away the most popular tournament glade. It has a very aggressive playstyle that benefits a variety of units as most of the perks apply to everything in the army. If this terrain feature is set up as a medium or large Awakened Wyldwood, all of its scenery pieces must be set up touching so that they form a circle with an area of open ground inside the circle. This area is considered to be part of the Awakened Wyldwood terrain feature. Since you’re likely leaning in on magic to play this, not a bad deal. Notable rule here is that rules like this usually establish if your General is a Wizard you have to take this, and it doesn’t say that. So no getting around it. If you don’t have many other ways to generate a Wyldwood, this is a surefire way, it’s good to have at least one other ready to go if you can due to the tactical flexibility it grants. B Sylvaneth are an uphill battle to play but you can win. Matthew Kangiser went 5-0 at the Blue Sky Summer Open this past summer so it’s not impossible. Get out there and be a legend! The Sylvaneth are always ready to defend their homes or march out to war. When they do they are organized into Wargroves, Sylvaneth armies that advance with an unnatural speed that rivals that of cavalry of other armies. Sylvaneth are stealthy to such a degree that an entire wargrove can emerge from a forest, without any hint of their presence coming from their cover. [9f]
