Tella wakes up days later in Scarlett’s room. She scolds Tella for being swept away by Dante. Tella assures her she isn’t and that he isn’t a very good kisser. Tella confides that she’s going to play Caraval this time and says they should play together. One look from Julian convinces Tella that she should talk Scarlett out of it.

I'm going to keep this review spoiler free, especially as we're a little ways away from the release, but I'll just say this took a verrrry unexpected turn and I couldn't be more thrilled. But a word to the wise (and for those who know me) - I like when books throw punches in your gut and make you doubt everything you thought you knew.

Count Nicolas d’Arcy was Scarlett’s former fiancé whom Scarlett’s father had arranged for her to marry. Before Caraval, Scarlett had only written him letters, but she’d believed herself in love with him. She’d also thought the count would keep both her and Tella safe—until Scarlett met him during Caraval and learned what a despicable human being he was. flaco si no leíste caraval ni legendary para cuando hayas llegado hasta acá, no sé que carajo estás haciendo de tu vida i am so invested about what's going to happen with scar and tella's mom, is she a villain? what was her reason for leaving the island? why did she give up her secondborn, and what's going to happen to her in finale? the unanswered questions are killing me, stephanie garber knows how to write an epilogue and cliffhanger. But the best villains are the ones you secretly like, and my nana always said Legend was the villain in Caraval.”

As the pair stood there with their arms wrapped around each other, and their heads leaning closer together, they looked like two halves of the same heart.” For it was also said the Prince of Hearts was not capable of love, because his heart had stopped beating long ago. Only one person could make it beat again: his one true love. They said his kiss had been fatal to all but her—his only weakness—and as he’d sought her, he’d left a trail of corpses.” Legendary is out today!! I'm so excited for readers to jump into this story! I hope you all enjoy it! No one likes me, Donatella, but people go along with whatever I say. Sometimes my only form of entertainment is seeing how far I can take things before someone flinches” “– You really have not feelings at all, do you?” “– I feel” “– But not like humans?” “—No. It takes far more for me to feel something, and when I do its infinitely stronger” I DID IT. I FINISHED THE DAMNED THING. And I’m going to bitch in a conflicted manner just like I did with Caraval AND THEN STILL ADD FINALE TO MY TBR LIST.OK. I liked him, not going to lie. But I prefer Julian. If you did not read Caraval, skip until next character please. Ok, what we know about Dante is that he works for Legend, and seems to have a special interest in Donatella. LISTEN. IM BEING BIASSED BECAUSE HE HAS TATTOOS OK. TATTOOS!! And im WEAK FOR THOSE. Cleans drool. One of the most captivating parts of the story is the romance between Tella and Dante. The chemistry between them is palpable, and they have a wonderful dynamic, replete with plenty of playful banter and swoon-worthy interactions. It is a slow-burn romance, where you are left wondering if they will end up together right up until the end of the book. the world of caraval is so neat, but the writing was driving. me. up. a. wall. i was this close 👌🏻 to dnf’ing because of the imagery and how messy the story became. Donatella not only escaped from the clutches of their father but saved Scarlett from the arranged marriage their father had set up. They should all be happy, but Tella can’t. She isn’t free yet because she made a deal with a mysterious criminal and now has a debt to repay. What does Tella owe him? The criminal wants from her the one thing that no one has ever been capable of giving to him– the true name of Master Legend.

trust me no ones more upset i didnt like this than me. i read this whole book and felt next to nothing. Swallowing a curse, she hastily pushed up from the ground, away from his stilled, skilled fingers. She didn’t care if he saw her sneaking off; it would be far less uncomfortable than exchanging any forced pleasantries before one of them became bold enough to make an excuse for why he or she needed to rush away. Tella had kissed enough young men to know that anything said by a boy right before or directly after she kissed him could not be believed at all. And she really needed to leave. Plot and characters aside, Legendary excels at world expansion. In this book, we journey to a hitherto unexplored part of the Caraval universe: the capital city of Valenda. With “sky carriages” (cable cars to us non-Valendans) and such intriguing-sounding neighborhoods as the Spice Quarter and Temple District, it is a wonderfully magical setting, and through her well-penned descriptions, Garber brings the city to life. As you read the story, you feel as though you, not Tella, are the one getting lost in its labyrinthine streets and alleyways. The not so good

The memory Aiko begins to take is one that Tella hadn’t thought about it in years. It’s one memory past the one where her mother told her not to touch the cards of destiny. Her mother shared why the cards are dangerous. She said the Fates trap unsuspecting humans in the cards and they can’t escape unless…And this is the moment Aiko captures the memory. Tella doesn’t hear the end of it and suddenly doesn’t remember it at all. Y TELLA? TELLA SWEETIE PERDÓN PERO NO TE TENÍA UNA PUTA EXPECTATIVA Y ME VOLASTE LA PELUCA. Pero qué pedazo de protagonista la re puta madre, les voy a dejar una quote que la describe So, why did I end up giving this four stars and not five with glowing sentences like the paragraph above this one? With so many twists and turns throughout this book, all of which blindsided me and made me fall more and more in love, the ending ended up being so predictable. Like, to the point that I thought it couldn’t be real, and that the epilogue was going to pull the wool from my eyes. But no, the disappointment just stayed. Which is so sad, because this book was so good, and such a treat to read in every single way, but the ending just made this amazing book really end on a bad note.
